To force the symbol to update, place the indicator box on the symbol, you can do this by clicking on the symbol or using your arrow keys, then you can click on the tools menu and click on Force Symbol. You can also hold down the Control Key (Ctrl) and press the letter U. If that still does not work, try re-typing the symbol. If further problems persist, call InterQuote technical support.

This is a problem that occurs in the beta version on InterQuote (Version 2.6.1.35). To get the column to update, enter a symbol into the portfolio. This is a problem where Control (Ctrl) U will not work. This problem will be fixed in the next release of InterQuote.

This happens when Interquote first starts. Sometimes the screen shows your ticker symbols and the rest of the columns are all zeros. To correct this problem you can force an update to the symbol by clicking on the symbols and pressing control (Ctrl) U. However, if you have a large portfolio or have spaces in the portfolio, there is a quicker way!!! Click on the column heading "Symbol". This will highlight the whole column in black. The next step is to click on Edit and click on Copy. Then click in cell number one under the symbol column. This will un-highlight the column and place the indicator box in cell number one under the symbol column. Then click on Edit and click on Paste. This tricks the system into thinking that you are re-typing all the symbols. It's a better force update than Control (Ctrl) U.

This problem could be related to many things. The one thing that you can try is to close all the windows so that you are on the desktop (the screen with all the icons). Once you are there, double click on the My Computer icon, double click on your hard drive icon, you should be able to see the "iq" folder. Double click on the folder. Inside the folder you will see files with a .dat extension (ie: AdvAlert.dat). If you delete all the files that have this extension and then restart InterQuote, you should have your problems fixed.

This problem is due to numbers in a column being too large to fit within the space given. To solve this problem you just have to change the width of the column. This is done by clicking on the column heading. Once you do this the column should be highlighted in black. Then Click on Format and click on Column Width. In the window that pops up, enter a higher value than the one that is shown. This will change the width and should change the number signs to numbers.

This feature allows you to see more or less of the InterQuote screen at one time. This is found in the File Toolbar. To check and see if the File Toolbar is turned on, click on View. If there is a check mark next to File Toolbar then it is on. If there is no check mark, click on File Toolbar. The bar appers at the top of the screen and the Zoom Feature is located near the center. If you make the number smaller, you will see more of the InterQuote screen. If you make the number larger, you will see less of the screen.

Adding columns in InterQuote is a pretty painless process. First, click on a column heading. This will highlight the column that is under the column heading. Press the Insert key on your keyboard. This will open a Column Editor. Within the column editor there are a number of columns that can be added or you can choose not to click on any of the column choices and make your own column. Once you have chosen a column or named your own, press the Apply button at the bottom of the Column Editor. You will then see your column has been inserted.

To add a row to the portfolio, click on the row labels on the left side (numbers) and press the insert key.

Moving columns is a nice way to customize a portfolio. To move a column, you click on the column heading so the whole column is highlighted. Once this is completed, use your right and left arrow keys on your keyboard to move the columns right or left. These same steps can be used to move rows up and down in a portfolio. Just click on the row number and use the up and down arrow keys to move a row up or down. This is a great way to customize a portfolio!
